[review] Jane Jameson series by Molly Harper

This series is very good! I give it a thumb up for great plotline.
I love how vampires maintain an open society and have their needs sold on the market for them (synthetic blood, floss, book, sunscreen, window tint and everything)

The story continues to grab my attention with its extraordinary ways to curse.
For example: ‘He yells out some of the 7 words you don’t say in a polite atmosphere’ or ‘he suggests that I perform various sexual acts to myself’ LOL
I don’t know if I can write out the same as from the book, but you get what I mean.

I read many types of vampire books and I’ve read on many different kinds of vampire condition (venomous or not, fanged of not, sunshine or not, bats or not etc). The vampire condition in this book is good and Molly Harper makes up good ‘defense’ to cover for the vampire’s weaknesses (how many times did I mention the word ‘good’? o.0)

Anyway, I give this series a 4 out of 5~

PS> It’s an adult book so be warned, ya

[review] Jeffrey Archer – False Impression

I don’t usually read novels outside my genre [mystery, supernatural, romance, fantasy, and a lil bit horror] but this novel captures my attention with its summary at the back cover.

It makes me curious how 7 strangers going to link together.
And he gives the female protagonist photographic memory. Good, I always love that ability~

The storyline is good and slowly linking all characters, although it’s kind of confusing at first with the abrupt switching of the first character and the female protagonist side. The climax is unexpected and very refreshing. It got me nervous and scared at the same time for the female lead.

On the other hand, the novel gives us the insight of what’s happening inside the WTC when it is bombed. It’s not a good thing to thought of but for me who never know what happen to WTC except from a conversation, I could feel and see the whole incident through this novel.

Oh one more thing, I get to know a lot of artist’s name and their masterpiece.

I give this novel a 4 out of 5~

[review] Harry Potter and The Deadly Hallows

**spoilers ahead, so no reading down if you don’t wanna be spoilt =P**

Whoa, after Dumbledore died, I thought there’s really nothing to hope for… (plus I heard a spoiler on the side that one of my favorite twins died in the book T^T)
But unexpectedly, this book is quite good.
Got me crying in a few chapters.
Well yeah, many people died but… the plot goes quite well and the ending is really unexpected o.o!

I salute Professor Severus Snape and he earned the highest respect from me.
Never know things could go this way…
This is not one of the best books in the series but it is one of the best ending among all the books I ever read. Don’t you just love happy ending? *sigh*

Anyway, heard that the last movie gonna come in 2 part. One will be out in November this year and the other July next year. Can’t wait to see it =)
(psst… I’m gonna [Avada Kedavra] the producer + script writer if this one comes out as bad as the previous one – Half-Blood Prince )

I give this masterpiece a 4 out of 5~!

[myself] The depressed one

I’m depressed, yeah.
And I suddenly came to remember a story I read long ago.
It’s a teaching about how small is our individual burden is compared to the other big stuff.

I realize that the teaching is so wrong now.
My own burden might be small compared to other burden like parental responsibilities or the responsibility of governing a whole country and stuff, but it really depends on the individual.

For example, a boy (hydrophobic) has extreme fear to get into water while the other don’t. Others may think that it’s not a big thing but it’s as big as life itself for the hydrophobic boy.
Same here in my case, my burden might be small in others eyes, but it’s as big as I could barely handle for me. So, so what if my cross is the smallest in the room, that’s the heaviest one I could manage!

[Review] Dennou Coil (Anime)

Dennou Coil, I miss it T^T

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

This anime doesn’t have those main genres where I usually watch like [shoujo, harem, reverse harem, … uh, I can’t remember ^^;;].
I think I found this anime while scrolling in Supernatural genre… I think…
I love this anime because it’s not the same as what I watched and yet, it’s interesting.
The glasses really have good ideas and it make me wish for a glasses myself~
It’ll be fun~ Running from Satchii and Kyuu-chan and hiding around shrines (oh, my country doesn’t have much shrine so I’ll be doomed for sure if it happens here ^^;;)
Other than that, it’ll be fun playing ‘cyberwar’ with friends and it makes searching for information a lotta easier.
I’ll definitely visit Japan if they ever create stuff from Dennou Coil in reality Japan.

Although it’s a good anime, it’s kinda confusing in episode 1 for things are not explained in the first place.
I’m okay with it because I think it’s interesting but episode 1 is where people judge whether they wanna continue watching it or not.
So I’m just saying that people with less patience will be put off by the first episode…or not! XD

I give Dennou Coil a beautiful 5 out of 5~!

[myself] The Poison Tree

Today I come to know something I didn’t notice before.
Whenever I say ‘Kirai’ to ‘the’ friend, I’m never satisfied with it.
It’s like words can’t express what I felt.

But now, I finally understand why.
The truth is ‘the’ friend was never a friend, he are a foe.
That’s why words failed me whenever I tried to express how much I loathe this foe…

All thanks to a great poem from William Blake [The Poison Tree]
It amazed me how easy is it to understand and to relate the poem,
It was like I’m the one planting the pomme tree~
My old self will never believe that I actually smile and grin with glee upon finished reading the poem.

Which part of the poem makes me realize my own feeling you ask?
Well, it’s the explanation provided by my instructor that sets it in.
I still remember the beautiful sentence […a foe is when every single thing about him irks you to the point of no return]

I wonder when my tree will bear fruit… *grin*

[Review] New moon (Twilight movie series)

hmm, what can I say... I'm a Jasper fan so the movie isn't exactly what I'm waiting for.
I prefer twilight over this one because Jasper appear more XD
so my comment is biased =P (who cares?)

Good:
The effects (visual and sound) are great! Especially it is watched in cinemas.

Bad:
It's kinda freaky when Bella screams like that every night.
I mean it's too high-pitched.
That scream makes people think she's in pain (physical ones)
Actually she is scared, paronoid or whatever, so I think her scream should low-key scream and moans? =P

Anyway, the movie is nice and it brings motion to what I read from the book so 3 out of 5~!

[NEWS] 091029 TVXQ's Contract - Income Division

The Court has granted the injunction filed by the members of TVXQ against SM Entertainment. The Court found that the Contract between SM and the Members was unconscionable and against public policy. Following this victory, the Members are proceeding with the main suit to ask for the rightful shares of all income generated from their activities.

The following is a summary of the outrageous terms of the Contract that relates to the distribution of income. The clear conclusion is that the TVXQ members have received next to nothing for their six years of work, and that virtually all money we spend to buy SM products stay with SM. Please read the below to see the extent of the injustice.

Please keep in mind that SM's contract with TVXQ has been amended five times and therefore the applicable terms have varied over time. Accounting for all the resulting complexities, the truth adds up to the following:

-------------

I. TVXQ has received $0 for their album sales prior to July 2008, and only a negligible amount after that date.

Prior to the fifth and final round of amendments on July 1, 2008, the Contract read that for any album or single with sales not exceeding 500,000 copies, SM would be entitled to 100% of the profits, leaving the members with nothing. From the time of TVXQ's debut in late 2003 and until TVXQ's release of their 4th Korean album "Mirotic" in September 2008, no Korean album had sold more than 500,000 copies. Therefore, prior to July 2008 TVXQ has had absolutely zero income from their album sales.

On July 1,2008, SM amended the Contract to give each Member 1% of total sales for each album that sells over 200,000 copies. For any albums that sell fewer copies, the members are to receive 0.6% to 0%. SM has not honored even these outrageous terms, as it has not paid TVXQ a single cent since February 2009.

In sum, SM has kept 100% of all sales that TVXQ has generated with the sales of their albums and singles prior to July 2008, and has kept 95% or more of the sales after that date.

-------------

II. TVXQ has received $0 for the sales of concert DVDs and albums featuring recordings from such concerts.

Under the Contract, the Members are not entitled to receive any share of the profits generated from sales of concert DVDs and "live" albums.

-------------

III. TVXQ has received $0 for their appearances on TV programs.

Under the Contract, Members are not entitled to receive any share of the profits made through their TV appearances if the appearance is of a temporary nature. As all programs on which TVXQ appeared have featured the Members as "guests"and therefore by nature have been temporary, SM has kept all profits that TVXQ has generated from these TV appearances.

-------------

IV. For all other possible sources of revenue, SM subtracts from the total revenue all expenses, including salaries of other staff, stage preparation expenses, rent, travel expenses, food expenses, and the like, then gives TVXQ only a fraction of the remaining amount.

As for all other sources of income, the Contract states that TVXQ is entitled to varying percentages of the "net income." The Contract defines "net income" to be the amount remaining after the applicable "operating costs". The "operating costs" are defined to include such expenses that are traditionally expected to be covered by the employer, including but not limited to 1) salaries of the staff (manager, clothing coordinators, makeup artists, dance crew, and the like), 2) performing stage preparation costs, 3) living expenses, including rent and water/electricity bills, 4) travel expenses, including plane ticket costs, 5) meal expenses, and the like.

Even after all these "operating costs" are deducted from the net income, the Members are only entitled to a small percentage of the remainder while SM keeps the rest.

-------------

In conclusion, please realize that SM has kept virtually all of the profits that our Members have generated over the past six years. Our Members have received, literally, next to nothing.

Following the victory of the granting of the preliminary injunction, the Members now prepare for a suit to claim their rightful share of the profits that they themselves generated. Please help them win the lawsuit by boycotting all SM-made products and merchandises (this excludes all Avex-made products, which includes Japanese albums and singles released in Japan).

Please remember that every cent you spend on SM will be used to fuel SM's efforts against our Members in the main suit. We as fans support TVXQ in their rightful fight for their rights.

I hate the people around me

I’m selfish
I’m crazy

[review] Carmilla – Sheridan Le Fanu

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

This is a really weird book if you ask me x.x
I mean, since it’s a vampire book I should able to read story about it.
But mostly it is about the admiration of the vampire to the main character and there is no mentioning about who is the vampire for almost 80 % of the story.
Although, you can already guess it from the beginning of the story =P

Still, I won’t recommend this one if you hope to read vampire stories like Twilight.

I give this novel a 2 out of 5
